Spring Network Event - Using human rights to empower our communities

In May 2009 the Community Network Spring event, in partnership with Amnesty International, was themed on 'using human rights to empower our communities'.

The event was attended by 40 people from voluntary, community and faith sectors in Preston.  Sabina Frediani, national campaigns officer at Liberty gave the keynote speech on the Common Values Campagin and Amensty International facilitated workshops in which participants looked at the practical ways in which human rights concepts can be used in our everyday work in the voluntary, community and faith sector.
